VCI anti-corrosion technology
What is VCI ?
When metal comes into contact with oxygen, a primary oxide layer (POF – Primary/Passive Oxide Film) is formed on its surface. This is a natural defense mechanism against corrosion.
The stability of the POF layer depends on the type of metal and atmospheric conditions. It can be more or less durable and more or less susceptible to damage or destruction. Damage to the POF layer can lead to corrosion of the metal surface.
To prevent the corrosion process, anti-corrosion protection technologies based on Volatile Corrosion Inhibitors (VCI) are used, among others.
What is worth knowing about anti-corrosion technology?
Anti-corrosion agents are an effective way to protect metals against corrosion and are designed to ensure full safety of use. Willyberg offers, among others, VCI anti-corrosion foil, VCI anti-corrosion paper and anti-corrosion additives. However, it is worth learning more about the principle of operation of this technology and its possibilities.
