Mould building resins and gelcoats
mould construction
WILLYBERG molding resins, also called tool resins, are used for the production of polyester-glass molds. They can also be used for laminates that require additional reinforcement with glass fiber or fabric. These resins are characterized by low shrinkage during the polymerization process. These are polyester resins, accelerated, thixotropic.
The resin used ensures good air venting of the mold – there are no air bubbles and the mold does not “sit”.
Elements made of these resins are characterized by high mechanical parameters, durability, good chemical and thermal resistance, low polymerization shrinkage and a low thermal peak. Working with these resins is convenient because the resin saturates the glass fiber well.
WILLYBERG tool gelcoats are made on the basis of vinyl ester resin. They are pre-accelerated and are intended for spray application.
These gelcoats have high thermal and chemical resistance. They can be easily applied to the surface and stay on the surface without settling.
Gelcoats have maximum mechanical properties, high gloss and flexibility.
